My First Visit to Ben's Chili Bowl
...was also the occasion of my first ever DC webloggers meetup last night. Despite having lived in our nation's capital for nearly nine years, I'd never managed to dine in one of its landmark establishments, having declined various very late night suggestions to repair to Ben's Chili Bowl for refreshments.
Clearly I've been missing out on a good thing. I can, for instance, highly recommend the strawberry milk shake. And carnivores of my acquaintance make happy sounds about the eponymous chili, the burgers, and the smoked sausage. The fries are fine. Next time, I'll have to go at lunch time and have a salmon cake sandwich.
