Web-moderated Futurist Communities

I'm sure there are many of these sorts of things out there on the web. When I first encountered The Foresight Exchange (Thanks, Neal!), I found it to be a fascinating idea. People "bid" on ideas that they think will (or won't) happen, and the site administrators keep track. You have nothing to lose (or gain) but a reputation. I recall another similar site from around that time, but have not found it again.

But related to it in my mind are sites like "ShouldExist", the half-bakery, the "Edge" zine, and Howard Rheingold's Smart Mobs site.

As (I think) Mark Twain said, "Plan for the future, because that's where you are going to spend the rest of your life."
