Python 2.3 What's New

Jarno Virtanen points out that Andrew Kuchling has started to put together the What's New in Python 2.3 document. I seem to have forgotten to mention it last month, but the "set" data type may be the most interesting addition.

OSAF TreeDragon

David McCusker appears to be quite inspired by the Chandler project and the OSAF. It's refreshing to see the enthusiasm and openness with which he's starting work on this project. It's also encouraging how thoroughly the community has been participating in Chandler's mailing lists. There are enough great ideas floating around there to put together into twenty different applications.

(However, keep in mind Andre Torrez' "Even You Can Do It" meme that l.m.orchard, the 0xDECAFBAD guy, has adopted.)

Python meetup

If they vote for Saratoga, I'll try to be there next time (Thursday, 12 December).
