Growing List of RSS Feeds - Matt Croydon
The post below is through Matt's RSS Feed from Dave Winer. I'm just starting to explore this stuff.
RSS Day. Here are links to several RSS feeds from Dave:
- Apple has four new RSS feeds. Thanks to Steven Garrity for the pointer.
- Fast Company has an RSS feed too. Bing!
- Cisco Systems has 12 new RSS feeds. Latest News Releases, Content Networking, Partner, Routing, Security, Software, Standards, Storage Networking, Switching, Voice, Wireless, Features.
I'm teetering on the edge of information overload, so I don't know if I can afford to subscribe to any of these. When I started weblogging, I tried to get my hands on as many primary sources as possible (Currently monitoring 243 sources). I would filter out the drek and report to the world my findings. Nowadays I have to rely on other webloggers, most of them more intelligent than I, to filter through the drek and report back to me what they have found.
Finding the intersection of primary sources and intelligent analysis is key. [Matt Croydon::postneo]

2003 Denver Mayoral Election
According to the Rocky Mountain News, Don Mares vowed to replace police chief Gerry Whitman when elected and I'm pretty sure it was no April Fool's joke. Mares made the announcement prior to his endorsement interview with the police union. I guess he figured he was not in the running for their endorsement. There is widespread mistrust of the police department amongst the voters especially in light of the spy files and the more recent moonlighting revelations.
John Hickenlooper revealed his economic plan yesterday. He announced several proposals including a new cabinet level development economic development administrator. I hope your appointment won't require a charter change John, that might take your whole first term to accomplish.
Mares is also in the news for his lawsuit over some Winter Park records. Mares sued to get the records released and lost the case but it's now being appealed. The Winter Park deal has been controversial. Mayor Webb ignored the sell recommendation of a committee that he appointed.
