Denver November 2004 Election
State Republicans are slowly warming up to having Bob Schaffer as their candidate for the U.S. Senate, according to the Rocky Mountain News [April 7, 2004, "GOP heavies offer Schaffer tepid nod"]. From the article, "The race, which became one of the country's most closely watched when (Ben Nighthorse) Campbell bowed out, will require more than money, Schaffer said. 'The president is going to have to work hard here," he said. "He's going to have to show up here.'" Good luck with that one Mr. Schaffer.
Here's a story about Mr. Schaffer from the Denver Post [April 7, 2004, "Schaffer to GOP leaders: 'We can win'"].
Dwight Henson is showing up as a candidate for Senate on the Rocky election page. Last spring he was homeless and running for mayor of Denver. He didn't get the election paperwork in so he didn't make it to the ballot. I wish you better luck this time Mr. Henson. I looked for you last year on the 16th Street Mall to sign your petition. e-mail me an we'll get you a free weblog.
