Google Links

Dave Winer: "In 2005, adding links to a page is not different from adding to or changing the words on the page. It's as if a machine editor had license to change our meaning or intent, without our permission, without disclosing to the reader that it was doing so, because it's impossible to know which links were added by the author and which were added by Google."

Snowpack looks good for the southwest mountains due to the depth and the moisture content, according to the Cortez Journal. From the article: "As of Saturday, water content in the Southwest snowpack was in the range of 150 percent to 175 percent of normal, Zumpfe said. In terms of snow depth, the region is also above normal with Red Mountain Pass measured at 126 percent of normal. Durango Mountain Resort's snowfall is 240 inches to date, compared with 150 inches last year."

From today's Denver Post: "The Denver City Council on Tuesday sent the merger of the Glendale and Denver fire departments to the city's voters. By an 11-1 vote, the council put on the May 3 ballot a question concerning the lateral hiring of two dozen Glendale firefighters into Denver's ranks."
