Dave Winer: "Hillary Clinton says that the last two Democratic candidates lost because Republican charges that they were elite stuck. My response: This time is different. Gore had the baggage of the Clinton presidency to overcome, and even so the race was so close that many people felt he actually won and his election was unfairly overturned by the Supreme Court. I voted for Kerry, but with far less enthusiasm than I will vote for Obama, a candidate I believe in. I believe Obama made a mistake, but there's no choice as far as I'm concerned, between him and the other two candidates. HRC is every bit as elite and far more out of touch, and too cyncial to be my President. McCain is a slightly better George Bush, we need a sharp turn away from Bush, and only Obama offers that."
Political Wire: 'Sen. Barack Obama "holds a small lead over Sen. John McCain in the race for Michigan's 17 electoral votes, but McCain holds a significant lead over Hillary Clinton,' according to a new EPIC-MRA poll. In general election match ups, Obama leads McCain, 43% to 41%, while McCain leads Clinton, 46% to 37%."
Political Wire: "Sen. Barack Obama, 'who has come under attack by his presidential rivals for describing small-town voters as 'bitter,' seems to be weathering the storm to this point as far as voters are concerned. He maintains a 10 percentage point lead over Sen. Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, 50% to 40%,' according to the latest Gallup tracking poll."
Political Wire: "A new American Research Group poll in Pennsylvania shows Sen. Hillary Clinton has regained and increased her lead over Sen. Barack Obama, 57% to 37%. The previous ARG poll actually had the race tied at 45%, making this a huge swing for Clinton in just a week."
