Since posting this, I've received a few inquiries about what my next book is going to be about. Suffice it to say that Web services will at least be part of it and that it'll be targeted more towards design architects than code warriors. I'm actually planning to work on two books this year, one of which I'll only be a relatively minor contributor. I'm also going to be updating the Programming Web Services With SOAP book. As I mentioned, I'm not sure when these things will get out there, but they will. Stay tuned for more information.

Sam Ruby: "Traumwind: SELECT * FROM users WHERE clue > 0; 0 rows returned" From my previous incarnation as a custom software developer for a tech services company (just a little over a year ago!!!), my general philosophy is simple: if my users don't have a clue, it is my fault. Our jobs need to be as much about education as they are about development. Before we sell technology to somebody, we need to help them to understand why they need it and how it works.

gnat's Journal: "developed the next edition of "Programming Web Services with SOAP", and got the authors into it." That would be me alright. :-)

gnat's Journal: "I drew a blank last night, just ended up staring at the page unable to figure out how to get from here to there" I hit this on every writing assignment I take on. It's really strange. I'll sit here staring at my computer screen for hours on end not having a clue what to write then all of a sudden I start typing and the initial draft is done an hour later.

Sam Ruby: "To download the Internet CLICK HERE." I would wager to guess that we all know at least one person who would fall for this.
