Planning Ahead to Outsmart the Ink Guzzler 'Color laser printers, which start at about $900, are also more economical than color inkjets. But they are a poor substitute for inkjet printers when printing digital pictures because the prints are not nearly as realistic as those produced by a good inkjet and glossy photo paper.

But when it comes to printing text, today's low-cost personal laser printers produce crisper pages and are cheaper to use than most inkjets.'

So laser is cheaper for text but I rarely print anything. I've never owned a printer myself. But I'll eventually get one for printing digital photos.

Safari Beta 2: Tabs Are Nice, But AutoFill and Privacy Reset Are My Favs
I welcome tabbed browsing with open screen real estate, but AutoFill and Privacy Reset are my personal winners here. [Meerkat: An Open Wire Service: O'Reilly Network Weblogs: Mac]
AutoFill, no question. Saves me time and brain power. I've always thought tabs were fine but quite over-rated. Opening another window is not so complicated!

Within this site you will find details on our production of Wagner's Ring, including tentative show schedules and international pricing, biographies on the creative team, and details on the COC's new opera house, Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.'
I think it's time to get a subscription.

I have an older RADAR 24. We recently got some new 80 Gig iSCSI drives. When I restored archives to those drives I didn't see any waveform even though I'd initialized the disc with waveforms. It turns out that I need another 256 MB of RAM. Waveforms are handled in RAM. Now that drives are getting bigger we need more RAM. A call to the ever helpful RADAR support people solved this one nicely. Generic PC 100 SDRAM, either one 256 MB stick or two 128 MB sticks. [posted by One Canuck]
