The Guardian as usual does not understand what is going on in Israel and the Middle East. In its editorial on the collapse of the coalition government in Israel it states:

In the regional context, Israel's political infighting can only intensify the uncertainty and significantly increase the risks attending the proposed US invasion of Iraq.

Given that both the Likud and Labor support an US attack on Iraq its hard to see how this can be the case.

An article in Ha’aretz notes there is some concern that the security fence along the border between Israel and the West Bank will not be effective as no money has set aside for the 5000 troops or police needed at guard it. It also notes that if the Palestinians stop attacking Israel and focus their attacks on the army and settlers in the West Bank and Gaza the fence would not be needed at all.

The Jerusalem Post and Ha’aretz have lots of articles on the fall of the coalition government in Israel and possible elections or new coalitions that may result. Few diplomatic changes are expected, at least until the US-Iraq issue is resolved.

Sci Fi Wire reports that Sarah Michelle Gellar told Access Hollywood that no decisions have been made concerning the future of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

A news brief on the same site notes that the planed Buffy the Vampire Slayer animated series is dead as no room could be found for it.
