While it occurred last month the CBC has now posted a report by Canadian solider Russell D. Storring about the November 28th and 29th CANCON show at Camp Warehouse in Kabul, Afghanistan. The US military has awarded thirty Bronze Stars to various officers and men of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia's Battle Group, a Canadian unit that serviced along side American troops in Afghanistan. Men receiving the awards included five snipers who helped protect Canadian and US troops downing an assault on Taliban positions. Receiving the awards posthumously were four Canadian soldiers who were killed accidentally by an U.S. bomb on April 17, 2002 during a training exercise. 11:55:32 PM ![]() |
Julie Burchill continues her farewell to the readers of The Guardian, continuing to address the issue of anti- Semitism and its current hidden form as anti-Zionism. Note that the "Letter to an Anti-Zionist Friend" allegedly written by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr that Burchill mentions in her article is apparently a hoax. While being demolished, a wall of the Uptown theatre in Toronto collapsed, killing one person and injuring others in the adjacent Yorkville English Academy. Since the theatre is over eighty years old it is possible that the building was too weak to be demolished using the methods choosen. 11:04:45 PM ![]() |
