Bush Scandals [democrats.com]. This is an outrageously long list of Bush scandals. You look at this and think back about Clinton. There's no comparison. These are outrageous crimes -- nothing like the miniscule crime Whitewater would have been if it had been a crime. And yet the media is silent about Bush and screamed bloody murder about Clinton.
Pretty obviously, the Bush mafia thinks it can get away with anything.

Poor little George! Yesterday the news was all about Enron; today it was all about Bush and the hijackers. Aren't we supposed to be talking about the need for tax cuts for the richest Bush campaign contributors? Why are we so heartless? I bet this is all Osama bin Daschle's fault.

On the plausibility of denials that Bush people knew the attacks would be suicide attacks.... The first point is the rumor that the Air Force had constant air cover over Bush's (stage-set) ranch while he hid there in August. The second is that the Genoa G8 summit feared suicide attacks and installed surface to air missiles. The third is that FBI agents in Minnesota nailed it: fly jets into buildings in New York. If the folks in Washington aren't as smart as the FBI in Minnesota, we need to have some job turnover, at least.

CNN.com: "Bush asks Daschle to limit Sept. 11 probes" (January 29, 2002)
" The request was made at a private meeting with congressional leaders Tuesday morning. Sources said Bush initiated the conversation."
So if you thought there were a cover-up, you would think the cover-up goes straight to the top.

Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney: "Because I love my country, because I am a patriot, and because the American people deserve the truth, I believe it would be dangerous, loony and irresponsible not to hold full congressional hearings on any warnings the Bush Administration had before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001."
Also:
"I've been told to 'sit down and shut up' over and over again. Well, I won't sit down and I won't shut up until the full and unvarnished truth is placed before the American people."
Go to it!

Big day for the people asking "what did they know, and when did they know it?" Long ago we knew Ashcroft stopped flying commercial airlines. Why? Bush people finally acknowledge that they knew hijackings were coming. Bush people still deny they knew that suicide missions were in the works. This is hardly plausible.
What *is* plausible is that the vicious attacks on McKinney indicate how badly the Bush people need to cover up their actions.
Generally, Bush people appear to have stopped investigations that lead toward rich Saudis, and especially to the Bush-family business parters, the Bin Ladens. This seems almost like treason, since those investigations might have prevented the September 11 nightmare.
Next, you have the open questions about the Bush White House role in negotiations with the Taliban about Unocal's pipeline. If Bush people really threatened the Taliban, we deserve to know. The simplest explanation for the September 11 attacks is that they were a response to Bush's threats.
And there are a host of smaller questions that we deserve answers to. If standard practice is for fighters to intercept hijacked planes, why the delays on September 11? What did the FBI really get from the French about Moussaoui? (The FBI says "not much", the French say "everything".)
