Files and folders that FrontPage creates for your web
Microsoft FrontPage creates the following files and folders for a web:
The Images folder for storing pictures, videos, and other images.
The _private folder for storing form results and any other files that you want to keep hidden from site visitors browsing your web.
FrontPage may create a new home page named Index.htm or Default.htm, depending on the type of server in use for the web.
If you paste picture files into pages, when you save the web, FrontPage prompts you to save the pictures in GIF or JPEG format, depending on the type of pictures they are.
If you select the Apply using CSS check box for a theme applied to a web, FrontPage creates a file named Theme1.css in the root of your web, where Theme is the name of the theme.
If you create shared templates for a web, FrontPage creates a hidden folder named _sharedtemplates in your root web.
If you add hover buttons to your pages, FrontPage creates files named Fphover.class and Fphoverx.class in your root web.
If you add banner ads to your pages, FrontPage creates files named Fprotate.class and Fprotatx.class in your root web.
If you use Dynamic HTML (DHTML) effects to animate page elements, FrontPage creates a file named Animate.js in the root folder of your web.
If you enable collapsible outlines for bulleted or numbered lists, FrontPage creates a file named Outline.js in the root folder of your web.
If you add database functionality to a page, or add a data connection to a web, FrontPage creates a file named Global.asain the root folder of the web. This file contains information about the web's data connections. If a Global.asa file already exists, FrontPage merely merges the new information into it.
If you create a page that contains a database results region, FrontPage creates an _fpclass folder (if it doesn't already exist) containing three files: Fpdblib.inc, Fpdbrgn1.inc, and Fpdbrgn2.inc. These files contain the Active Server Page scripts used to implement the server-side functionality for database features.
If you save form results to a database, FrontPage creates an _fpclassfolder (if it doesn't already exist) and uploads a file named Fpdbform.incto it. If you create a new database to hold form results, or if you use the sample data connectionoffered by the Database Results Wizard, FrontPage create an Fpdb folder (if it doesn't already exist) and uploads files with the .mdbextension (Access database files) to it.
