Microsoft takes on the DOD
Well, it looks as though our Friends to the Northwest have been pressuring the DOD and even Defense Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, to dump all open source projects or risk national security and of course Microsoft's intellectual property. Thankfully, The Mitre Corporation prepared a counter-argument for the DOD, claiming that
Banning open source would have immediate, broad, and strongly negative impacts on the ability of many sensitive and security-focused DOD groups to protect themselves against cyberattacks.
Can anyone say futility?
