Wine of the Night (actually, two nights ago)
Another absolutely fabulous South African: Seidelberg 2000 Roland's Reserve Syrah.

Whoa - big big barnyard flavor and super chewy and tarry. The sommelier stated that it was a pretty tough wine to take on its own, but it really shined with food. Well, the four of us thought it was absolutely incredible all by its lonesome. But, then again, we all enjoy a wine that puts hair on your chest! In addition to the whole barnyard, tarry, chewy thing, it had a lot of fruit and it really held together well. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you're up for a big challeging wine, this is well worth the effort.
