So the big news this morning here in little Anchorburg was the arrest of Susan Lindauer. She is charged with being an Iraqi agent. I really didn't pay close attention when I heard the story on national news yesterday. However, the front page of this morning's Daily News was all over the story

"Ah Ha. That Lindauer."

Susan Lindauer is the daughter of John Lindauer - a man with a very checkered Alaska political past. He was the Republican nominee for governor in 1998. As the Daily News stated this morning:

His campaign melted down spectacularly amid accusations that it had been illegally financed. In the final weeks, the party dropped its support, backing a write-in candidate. Democrat Tony Knowles won a second term.

Lindauer has always been pretty much a diaster. So, this Iraqi agent development just seems to be par for the course for the Lindauer family.

GCI's very own Iditarod musher (and Corporate Counsel) Mark Moderow is puttering along in 67th place. He left Ophir this morning at 7:30 and he and his dogs are on their way to Cripple. (Don't you just love Alaska place names?). He hasn't taken his 24 hour layover yet.

Here's a great picture of Mark receiving a well earned neckrub in Takotna. A big thanks to Andy Klevorn of the Ludington Daily News for the photo!
