We're all just dyin'. We had a extremely rare summer climatic occurence - a very very warm wind. The temperature was 75 before Noon. It hit the mid 80's by mid-afternoon. A baseball buddy of mind was down on the Kenai River this weekend and it was in the mid 90's. Absolutely unbelievable.
Peter and I did two Hillside geocaches late this afternoon, Siver Fern Spur Trail and Silver Fern Spur Trail Two. It was hot and dry up there. With that warm wind, one could just imagine a fire roaring through there.
We had a lot of fun with the two caches - Silver Fern One was a deceptively simple little hide under a bridge - where the trolls hang out. It took us quite some time to find it. The second one was deep in bear country - high grass, close brush, etc. The Ski Boy and I made as much noise as we could. As a matter of fact, I think we each scared each other more than once.
