Today was an absolutely hideous day on the wildfire smoke front. I let the Clemster out around 6:00 AM this morning and there was a definite orange cast to the sky and the air was somewhat hazy. But there was still a question as to whether it was smoke or clouds.
However, by 10:00 AM there was no question. Our building was completely socked in and the smoke actually started coming in through the ventilation system. Burning eyes and sore throats were rampant. The odor was extremely strong - wet campfire. I had a sudden craving for s'mores.
The smoke settled for the entire day - it didn't start to move out until around 6:00 PM when the wind picked up. As I type at 8:45 PM, it's still plenty smokey and I can still taste it - even inside. But it is nothing compared to this morning!
