Lance Armstrong and Harry Potter There's this sort of cosmic confluence going on in my life between Lance Armstrong and Harry Potter. I'm currently reading Daniel Coyle's fabulous book Lance Armstrong's War. It's perhaps one of the best cycling books ever written and it is drop dead compelling - even to the non-cyclist. I can't put it down. And even better yet - the book is written by an Alaskan - Daniel Coyle. As an example of what a small town Alaska really is, I serve with Danny's dad on the Concert Association Board of Directors. Pretty darn neat!!! Between the book and waking up at 5:00 AM to watch the day's Tour De France stage live, I seem to be surrounded by cycling and Lance Armstrong. And it's a blast to be reading Danny's book while the Tour is going on. It's like having a real insider view. But, as fun as it is, I've got to finish the book ASAP. I was one of the bazillion people that preordered the new Harry Potter book - I of course picked it up today and it is burning a hole in my nightstand - I can't wait to start it!!!!!! 9:49:51 PM    comment []
