As I type, it's 45 degrees with a brisk northwind. However, today's official high was 51 degree - today is the first day of the year that we crashed through the 50 degree barrier! Woo Hoo!!!!!

I know, you Lower 48 denizens sneer at our elation over a mere 51 degrees. But you gotta take what you can get.

Anyhoo, what does this mean for our little lagoon ice classic. Well, the Tyge-a-boo, Ski Boy, and myself just returned from our evening constitutional around the lagoon. I have to say that it's still pretty icy out there. You can still see ski tracks. sigh...

I don't think that ice is going anywhere soon.

Below is list of our entrants and their prognostications. As you can see by the strikeouts, Carol and Jim are already out of the running. But you can't fault their guesses - a year ago today it was 70 degrees.

NOTE: I had to DQ Pooh. His guess of May 2nd came in 13 hours after the hard and fast Midnight deadline.
