Tomorrow is the Autumnal Equinox and let me tell you, it's totally Fall around here. The leaves are 2/3's turned, the mountains are bright red, and we've got a fresh batch of Termination Dust. There was a complete and total monsoon mid-morning and when the clouds lifted a bit this afternoon, there was powdered sugar on the mountain tops.

I have to admit, this is one of my favorite times of the year. The Ski Boy does NOT share my enthusiasm.

As more and more information trickles out on the HP leak-spying affair, my jaw is dropping further and further. Pretexting the phone records is bad enough - especially from my vantage point of working for a carrier. Call records are these little goldmines of people's personal lives. We treat those records with a huge amount of care and respect. To just go pawing through an individual's call records is such an egregious invasion of privacy.

But, HP went far beyond that: tailing people, trying to track the actions of reporter's relatives, etc.

My God, who does HP think they are and for God's sake, what were they thinking???? All this, just because of boardroom leaks????

The HP founders, a very ethical pair, are spinning in their graves on this one.
