Antivirus software and Dreamweaver MX speed issues - These are from Chris Valiquet in Support. They are both great suggestions and you ought to give them a try.

-Antivirus should be disabled when installing Dreamweaver.  This is a very common source of problems which results in JavaScript errors and crashes.  But, you can certainly run your antivirus program after installation.

-Dreamweaver is constantly calling on JavaScript files that come with the application.  This the heart of the product's extensibility. Antivirus programs may scan any such file when opened, resulting in
significant performance degradation and possibly crashes.  As the below TechNote explains, most antivirus applications can be configured to not check JavaScript files in certain locations, specifically in Dreamweaver's application folder.
