ADA Compliance and the WWW -  c|net - A judge ruled yesterday that the Americans with Disabilities Act does not extend into cyberspace. This is the latest ruling and contradictory to earlier decisions in the case. The judge, U.S. District Court Judge Patricia Seitz, ruled in a case involving Southwest Airlines and their web site. The plantifs charged that the site did not make using the site easy for vision impared users although they did admit that you could order a ticket through the site even if it wasn't easy. Not all the technical details are in the article, but it is worth a read. It also notes that US Government sites all need to comply with section 508 still which is not a new requirement.

Interesting situation.

Back from Vacation... - Yes. It was really great. New Zealand is awesome and beautiful. If you have ever had any desire to go there and haven't, you ought to go. Long flight, worth the time.

Actually made contact with Paul Whitham and family there and had a very nice time with them. Thanks again Paul and family! They pointed out where the scenes for the Battle of Helm's Deep were filmed for The Two Towers. (my brush with moviemaking fame!)

As usual, if you have things that you want covered or mentioned here in the blog, let me know at mbrown@macromedia.com and I will get it in.
