Did you vote? - Yesterday in the US was election day. Part of our obligations of course as citizens is to think about who we want in office and what initiatives we want to support. The problem for me is consistantly that I did not even know that Redwood City had a port district let alone who the people in office or the challangers were.... That extends to judges and a number of the people running for the offices that don't get the big buck advertising campaigns.

This year I went to the League of Women Voters site and looked up my precinct there and got to read all about the different candidates and their bios and positions on some issues. That was really cool. The sad thing is that only a few of these candidates, in the center of Silicon Valley had their own web sites.

I know.. I know... what would you believe from a politician's own web site, but seriously even being able to see them to know how big a liar one politico is compared to another is some help. Why hasn't the idea of web pages for all public facing individuals come up? I would love to see info on the people that I choose or choose not to govern.

What do you think? Did you check the web on candidates that you had to vote for? Should there be a mandate that everyone running for office have some web presence for people to research?

Color Assistant from DWfaq - ~Angela at DWFaq.com has released a new commercial extension, Color Assistant, to help select and manage colors from the Dreamweaver MX toolbar. I could have used this on the most recent project I had. Price is $10 and looks to be worth the price.
