Lacking Insight This is sad to see. CNet used to be a relatively good source of news. Some good reporters got their start there. [John Robb's Radio Weblog]
I concur. When I see a Wired News or The Register story in my aggregator, I have the expectation it will provide an insightful view into some story or issue. When I see a CNet News story, on the other hand, I anticipate that it will be an uninspired rehash of some vendor's latest marketing material. In its defense, CNet is reliable; I trust them to get the basic facts right. Seeing a rumor on CNet makes the rumor "official."
For sheer depth, nothing beats EE Times. Those guys are amazing. 6:20:50 PM
Simplicity NY Times: "When physicists were recently asked to nominate the most beautiful experiments of all time, the 10 winners were largely solo performances." [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog]
I'm a Physics geek at heart. Check out this New York Times story (it's relatively short) and marvel at the amazing truths you can reveal by simply asking the right questions. Sometimes the simplest experiments are the best. 6:07:12 PM
