Dentistry Is Barbaric Scientists grow pig teeth in rat intestines. Wait! Keep reading . . . "[This] experiment suggests the existence of dental stem cells, which could one day allow a person to replace a lost or missing tooth with an identical tooth grown from his or her own cells." So can I stop flossing now? [MetaFilter]
Just the other day I was chatting with somebody about how barbaric dentistry is. It hasn't advanced at all since the Civil War. I mean, they can regrow skin in a petrie dish for burn victims, but the best they can do for a bad tooth is to keep drilling holes until there's nothing left? Come on! Put the power tools down and do some science!
Well, according to this story, somebody finally has. By the time I get into my fifties, they better have this perfected. 11:57:34 AM
Power Move So it seems that Radio has silently upgraded my RSS feed to RSS 2.0, this has broken at least one reader, probably more, how do i get back to a 0.9x feed ? [Simon Fell]
Whoa! A power move from Dave Winer's Userland! Silently pushing Dave's changes to the RSS format out to all (?) Radio Userland clients. That's one way to get rapid adoption of RSS 2.0.
I think I subscribe to two Userland employees' weblogs, and I don't remember getting any warning about this. 8:02:44 AM
