Nothing to say on 9/11
Like Dave Weinberger, I had nothing to say yesterday. But I wish I'd seen this earlier:
I did manage to miss most of the media hype, with the exception of the San Jose Mercury News, my morning newspaper, which devoted excessive amounts of newsprint to the anniversary. The most offensive scene, however, was the group of bozos on the street in Pleasanton, waving flags and honking horns as if it was a blinking holiday. Tasteless, mindless jingoism serves no one but our enemies.
