Unusually Large Cheesesteak Sandwich Shipment Reported in Vermont
Philly Cheesesteaks in Burlington. When Governor Dean came to Philly last week, I was one of the 4000 cheering supporters who came out to see him outside the Constitution Center. Admittedly, the Governor wasn't the only attraction at the event for me. My son, Eric, who I raised in Philly, works in the communications office for the campaign, and helped staff the Governor when he came to town. There were two things that I was dissapointed with that day. First, I didn't get to see Eric for more than 2 minutes, as he was running around frantically when we found out that the Governor's flight was 90 minutes late coming into Philly. Second, though the Governor clearly knew how to talk to Philadelphians (even shouting "Yo! Philadelphia!"), and he knew how to dress for Philadelphians (he donned a Phillies jersey), he didn't get a chance to eat the local cuisine.
So yesterday, I went down to Pat's King of Steaks and didn't just order a cheesesteak for the Governor, I ordered fifty orders of "whiz wit" (cheese whiz with onions) so everyone up at the headquarters would know what we're so proud of here in Philly. I packed them up with some classic Philly deserts -- Tastykakes -- and shipped them off to Burlington. So far, the reviews I have gotten back from the staff are pretty good!

Now, one of the issues I had with the trip to Philly has been resolved; Burlington has gotten their cheesesteaks. Eric, you get your butt back to Philly soon -- the Iggles season is about to begin!
