Dean Campaign Manager Joe Trippi: A Better Politics Restores Meaning and Purpose
Family Politics. I wanted to make sure that everyone had seen this quote from an unnamed Democrat working for one of the other candidates regarding upcoming attacks on Howard Dean, that appeared in the August 11, 2003 edition of Time Magazine:
"Its kind of like the Mafia," says a strategist for another Democratic contender. "Everyone wants another family to hit him. You don't want to bring blood into your own house."
No wonder so many are turned off by this kind of politics and have stopped participating in the political process and have become so cynical.
Its time to restore meaning and purpose to our politics. A politics of community where individuals work together to make a difference again -- and believe in each other as Americans. That is what we are all trying to do together through Dean for America, with Howard Dean's leadership.
We need to remain focused.
We need to keep doing what we have been doing for months -- build the great grassroots campaign that will take our country back.
Help us reach our goal of 450,000 signed up for Howard Dean by September 30th. Keep organizing, keep spreading the word, keep contributing whatever you can in either time, or money, or both.

They will try to blow out this fire, but I am reminded of one of my favorite verses of one of my favorite songs:
"You can blow out a candle, but you can't blow out a fire.
Once the flame begins to catch, the wind will blow it higher."
