Dean Fundraising
11 O'clock Update-- and Sleepless Preview. It's 11 pm (for real this time) and the grassroots never sleeps!
5,324 Americans have contributed $283,753.03 to the Dean campaign today.
We'll be doing one more update at midnight, and then we'll resume your regularly-scheduled Sleepless updates at 9 am tomorrow.
We've got some great plans for the Sleepless Summer Tour here on the blog. There will be photos, audio links, some video-- and a special guest blogger for each day of the tour. David Weinberger of Joho the Blog will be posting reports tomorrow; on Sunday, Natasha from Pacific Views will report from the road; on Monday, Anna from Dean Nation makes the jump to the O-blog; and wrapping up on Tuesday will be none other than Markos himself from Daily Kos. So check in! We'll be here, sleepless as ever! [Blog for America]

Audio Bloggers in New Hampshire
Some bloggers have traveled to New Hampshire to cover the upcoming
Presidential race. Howard Dean's internet strategy has been quite notable.
Blogger Chris Lydon provides MP3 streaming audio of a Howard Dean Q&A
at a local house party. Topics include Health Care, International Policy and Small Business. Dean mentions making headway with diverse political coalitions and concludes the session with how the internet is helping his campaign:

Bloggers, Surfers, Countrymen - Time to Bring Out the Bat
3,083 Sleepless Contributors!. As of 1 PM, 3,083 people have contributed $166,431.05 -- 3,083 Americans standing up to Bush and going for a million grassroots dollars. The average contribution is $53.98.
When thousands of people come together and decide to make a difference, the collective voice is thundering.
At the same time, we've reached 969 Dean Get Local grassroots events in August -- only 31 more to go until 1,000 August Get Local events. Take the news of the bat to the ball game! Tonight, at the Yankee's game, Dean grassroots will be flyering Yankees fans from 5:30 until the game gets under way. Sign up for baseball flyering--and dozens of other New York Sleepless Summer flyering events--here. Bring out the Dean gear to celebrate bringing out the bat and get out into your community this weekend. There are plenty of ball games all around the country tonight -- let alone movies, sports, and concerts. Bring grassroots posters to poster your town and keep the local momentum going (hey New York, California's got you beat right now -- nearly twice as many posters downloaded (see all state stats here). Poster Thing
Posters American Style. "The purpose of American posters has always been to grab the individual and the collective consciousness and demand attention and action. Whatever the message -- from urgent appeals to patriotism to voices raised in protest, from pleas for environmentalism to seductive suggestions urging us to buy jeans -- the poster reflects the explosion of ideas in the twentieth century, both intellectual and visual." Nothing replaces a quality library, but hopefully this site will help fill the needs of those who have not access to one. Via linkfilter. [The Cartoonist]
