Software Piracy The Business Software Alliance just released a study on software piracy.  According to the alliance, Utah has one of the highest rates of software piracy in the nation.  The good news is that, according to the study, the piracy rate in Utah dropped significantly from the prior year (5th nationally in terms of the reduction rate). 9:01:51 AM

Productivity and Imaging Brent Sanderson is the new Assistant CIO for the Department of Administrative Services.  This morning, he will be demonstrating some excellent productivity tools to our division directors, particularly his use of Cognos and imaging to track and monitor expenses.  Brent downloads all of the ISF billing data for the Division of Finance to the data warehouse and then is able to monitor trends and respond to issues quickly in order to better manage the division's IT budget.  I would like to see some of the things his is doing 8:57:53 AM
