To me, this is the equivalent to doing a satelite feed on the cheap.  Move the source video to the broadcast mechanism on the cheap.  Wouldn't it be nice if a video camera came with Wi-Fi built in?

"Manhattan Neighborhood Network has embarked on a project to combine two community networking communities in NYC, the nascent community wifi network on that isle with public access cable TV. The project has successfully conducted a test which involved cablecasting an mpeg4 video stream being transported by the nycwireless.net wireless node in Bryant Park."

France has a new cash card.  I like that no private information is stored on it... it is much like the starbucks card that I use - no pin, no name, no nothing.  I doubt it will replace paper and coin monies, but could it allow us to get closer to micropayments?

Celebration, Fla., is a test market for the Segway.  Check out this article by the NYTimes.

"Some critics fear that the Segway will make Americans even more sedentary. But that has not happened to the Crows just yet. They ride bicycles for exercise and use Segways to get around town."

I think I'd rather see Segway owners give up their cars for short trips (the ones the rest of us should be walking or riding our bikes to).  The majority of my traveling is within a five mile radius.  I admit I should be doing more walking, but when it is this cold in Michigan, I don't always do the right thing.
