Today marks the start of American Week. It's a tradition at Insead that a selected group of countries host a week of cultural events, to promote exchange, learning, etc., but mostly for some good, nationalistic fun.
American Week started with something called Amphi Storming (we have our classes in one of several large amphitheaters). At the end of today's lecture, eight people burst into the room and did a short skit of... Jerry Springer. How American can you get! They were really good, and I hope it both frightened and inspired some of our fellow students.
This week's events include movies (Rocky, Forrest Gump, American Pie), a gospel brunch, afternoon jazz, and a large Friday-night party whose theme is Prom Night 1986. Time to get that tux out...
