-- Comment() Slashdot - Apple Hardware VP Defends Benchmarks: 'Joswiak went over the points in turn, but first said that they set out from the beginning to do a fair and even comparison, which is why they used an independent lab and provided full disclosure of the methods used in the tests, which would be "a silly way to do things" if Apple were intending to be deceptive.'

-- Comment() Note to Apple: it's baaaa-aaaack: "Some of you aren't going to like this, and I'm going to get flamed up and down the Nile, but if anything is clear from yesterday, it's that Apple has lit a fire up under the bums of many a PC user. What I'm interested in is the phenomenological aspect of the debate. As our own Battlefront attests to, there have been battles between PC and Mac users for ages, and those looking to do so can find stuff to fight about all the time. But as of yesterday, the war is back on, and the experience of it is different now, at least for me." [Ars Technica]

iSight will sell Macs -- Comment() Apple WWDC Wrap-up: "Apple's new digital camera, the iSight, when combined with iChat A/V, will be something that sells Macs. Not only will I get one, but if it works properly my family will want to get in on the action, too. My dad already covets my 30GB iPod, and when he figures out that he can do video chat with his kids from across the country he's going convince my mom to spring for the whole Mac package. Jobs knows that iSight will sell Macs via this type of "network marketing", which is why he so generously offered to give a free iSight camera to each of the developers at the conference. They'll take them home, plug them in, and then suggest an iSight purchase to their friends and family so that they'll have someone to do video chat with." [Ars Technica]
