YAMS Was out in Rocky Mount today and was exposed to a new term; YAMS. As in, "We sure have a lot of YAMS in North Carolina these days." I thought this had something to do with our state being a leading grower of yams. However, it refers not to the sweat tasting tubor but rather a group of people who have a limited appreciation for grits and other southern customs, that is, "Yankees and Mexicans." (And, no, I did not hear this from a Birch member.) 11:59:09 PM
