Hidden Messages to be Seen Some 60's rock posters contained information in letter styles where psychedelic design was on equal footing with legability. Or perhaps it was pushed even farther, knowing that the abilty to read them (or taking the time to figure them out) would identify oneself as belonging to a group. Unlike trying to actually hide the message, as discussed yesterday, these messages are more like puzzles, teasing a person to figure them out. These messages were not composed of cyphers, the substution of a symbol for a letter. In these messages the basic attibutes of the letter remain so that they can be discovered. Here we have the message obscured, but not really hidden.
Click here for a nice example that I can't put up even if I think this is really an educational use. |
