Ceramics Today Mystery Maker

OK, I'm 3 for 5 now. This does not seem to be my cup of tea.

Last week I missed Bodi Manz, favoring Osamu Suzuki because I was thinking the color fields were a tad too simple for the Scandanavians... Sounds dumb now that I say it again..Obvously I was not familiar with either of their works, but I am now, and I guess that is the point of this whole thing :-)

...and I'm not feeling too good about this week's pick either. It is pretty much of a guess for me...

OK, I'm more than willing to play the fool, if I can possibly learn something in the process...so here it goes:

Royal Dulton and Wedgewood, probably did simple stuff, but I think they were usually into more surface decoration..I dunno, blue windmills or something...then again the iridescent glaze reminds me of a Tiffany patina...hmmm

Charles Binns is a familiar name, of course, but I don't associate this refined simple (brancuzi-esque?) shape with him...could be wrong here, 'tho...

I sense a crackle glaze on the inside...whole piece could be raku..I'm not sure how popular that is in the UK, so I'll go with the two US folks...

Sorry to say, but...both Mary Case Perry Stratton and Hedwig Emanuel sound familiar...but I can't place them...maybe a Ceramics Monthly cover a while back?...

...something is leaning towards Hedwig Emanuel.

Now, if I resorted to cheating I would seem smarter on this web log, but not give myself a chance to grow.
