Astronomical Surface Decoration on Ceramics, Japan part IXX (The World's Greatest Authority...) I continue to Google the suggested terms to see if I can get some info on this type of decoration on a Japanese pot.... Tenmongaku is Japanese for astronomy (study of heaven pattern.) Googeling that I get 326 hits. Let's see if I can filter out a bit of that: tenmongaku tamba - 1 hit (me) tenmongaku tôgei - 1 hit (me) tenmongaku tôji - 1 hit (me) tenmongaku yakimono - 1 hit (me) tenmongaku ceramic - 2 hits (me and a glossary) tenmongaku pottery - 1 hit (me) tenmongaku clay - 1 hit (me, that glossaries, and some word lists) tenmongaku vase - 1 hit (me) tenmongaku pot - 2 hits (me and that same glossary) tenmongaku art - 20 hits (me, the glossary, some word lists, and other random stuff.) tenmongaku ancient - 18 hits (me, the glossary, some word lists, and more quasi-random stuff.) We'll, it seems this was not the right avenue to explore. It could be my methodology, a simple lack of information, or The Conspiracy Theory... (It turns out that Tenmongaku only has 75 distinct links. A quick look does not tun up anything of interest.) 2:55:31 PM |
