Sunshine Cream- I can't find the recipe, but I think it was a Rutile / Albany slip type thing. I loved Albany slip, but we all know what happened there.... 7:23:34 AM |
Glaze Names- Back in the late 1980's one of my favorites was "Sunshine Cream." It was a free flowing sort of cone 10 glaze, that would break into a myriad of colors and swirls. When put over another glaze, it would carry it all the way down the pot, dripping the other's color and occasionally flowing on to the kiln shelf. Most of the younger students in the class probably thought nothing of it, but used it a lot. While "Sunshine" seems like such an innocent word to them, it is also a psychedellic, hip, word from the 60's used in phrases such as "Liquid Sunshine" meaning assorted colors orange, yellow (artwizzard.) I'm not into drugs, but that glaze always makes me smile. 6:56:04 AM |
