Jogger Honey
A story of a life that began after cancer

Friday, November 01, 2002

The colors of autumn are now turning pale as winter approaches. In celebration of surviving my first year after cancer treatments, I've decided that John and I will give a party to our ham friends and club members. We're not sure how it will turn out. I sent out "feelers" today and got a couple of positive responses, so I think it might work out.

John and I have never had a Christmas tree, and have never ever put out Christmas decorations, so this will be a totally new experience for us. I love the Christmas holiday, but have never been motivated to do all of the decorating/tree business. I want this Christmas to be different. I was thinking if we could make it a potluck, then all we would have to do is supply, maybe some mulled wine and eggnog, and start a nice fire, and rent some chairs and tables, and we'd be good to go. I was thinking maybe I could even make it a "let's decorate" party, and have people bring a decoration contribution (preferrably simple, like something homemade). I haven't decided if that theme is one that will work yet. I'm still thinking about it.
