Miscellany

§ - Local newscaster just warned viewers who are sick of the Ben/JLo crap that the item would only take a second so please stick it out. (Sounds like he's had more than enough of this garbage himself!) The station's own website describes the pair as "the most overexposed couple on the planet" so the question is, WHY does KCPQ continue adding to the overexposure??? Actually, I've been watching the local FOX news deteriorate from being a really great source for local information to not much better than PR for other FOX programming sandwiched in between cute and/or sensational stories. Too bad, because they were my favorite local news station for quite a while. Hardly worth watching anymore. I suspect that for every new viewer they capture with their trivia they lose somebody like me from their audience.

§ - Wow! I started getting virus emails today hours before hearing reports/warnings about it. New enough that virus scanning didn't catch it. At least my years of spam fighting let me recognize it as something weird since this one looks like it came from Microsoft itself. (Not that I should have been getting any email from Microsoft.) Looks like I'll probably end up blowing yet another weekend deleting viruses. Sigh... - New Virus Preys on Old IE Flaw

§ - Sick of spam for penis pills? Guess what! The pills themselves can make you sick! - Some 'Enlargement' Pills Pack Impurities - "An independent laboratory analysis of a composite sample of 10 Performance Marketing pills ... turned up significant levels of E. coli, yeast, mold, lead and pesticide residues. The amount of E. coli bacteria—16,300 colony-forming units per gram—appears to be particularly high, experts say. 'I think it's safe to say it has heavy fecal contamination.'"
