Big Straw Project

Colorado has proposed a half-million dollar study of the Big Straw Project which would divert Colorado River water at the Utah border, pump it up 4500 feet in elevation and transport it 200 miles to Colorado front range communities.

Bankruptcy: Proposed Federal Law to make it tougher
Legislation to make it more difficult to banish debt through bankruptcy is moving through both houses of Congress. Sen. Hatch, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Congressman Chris Cannon, chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee, are both urging prompt passage.

Tuition Tax Credits

Utah's Tuition Tax Credit bill came up on CNN's Crossfire last night. Commentator Robert Novak called it the best school choice bill ever, while commentator Paul Begala called tuition vouchers one of the great frauds to be perpetrated by the Republican Party.

Utah's Congressional Delegation: Estrada vote

Washington Times:   We've had a debate now; now it's time to see who's going to vote where --. Then the American people are going to have to speak to those senators [Democrats blocking the Estrada vote] -- Sen. Judiciary Committee Chairman Hatch.
Senator Hatch also appeared on Hannity and Colmes and Lou Dobbs Moneyline last evening on the same topic. He indicated that Republicans plan to vote Thursday to end the filibuster.
Meanwhile, Sen. Bennett has been appointed to head the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee.
