UPC Scanning and Gas Pumps The Utah Department of Agriculture Weights and Measures Project has produced UPC Scanning Reports and Gasoline Pump Accuracy reports for much of Utah, but the information is not on their website. Weber State University Official on Short List for U. of Louisiana David Eisler, vice president for academic affairs at Weber State University was one of the finalists for Nicholls State University in Louisiana. The School, part of the U. of Louisiana system will be switching from open admissions to admissions standards in 2005. Eisler demonstrated his ideas for recruiting quality students. He was one of three finalists, from a pool of 49 applicants. However, Stephen Thompson Hulbert, chancellor of University of Montana-Western was the final choice for the University. Utah's Beer Tax State Legislation has catapulted Utah's beer taxes to among the highest in the nation. It now stands at 41 cents per gallon. Only Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, and South Carolina are higher. ![]() |
Lawmakers want to abolish Satanic Highway Highway 666 which runs from New Mexico into Utah, has become the focus of the New Mexico legislature. They want to change the number. The sinuous highway has more than its share of traffic accidents, and is known in some circles as the "Highway to Hell." Of course all this stems from verses in the Biblical book of Revelation. The highway was assigned the number in the 1920s. Apparently Colorado and Utah have joined in the request to change the number. ![]() |
