Christmas is a comin'???
With the high today of 90F, it's difficult to believe that Christmas is only 35 days away. Surely I should be very use to this, having lived here almost all of my life...yet, when I pick up a paper and note the stories regarding the ice storms, and people being warned about the likelihood of being "snowed in", I find myself wondering how anyone can live like that. Of course, I miss the changing of the seasons, the smell of burning firewood emanating from every homes chimmney and the beauty that is a freshly fallen snow. All of the local stores have already installed their plastic green pine trees and spun cotton mantles, Christmas tunes are even played on a local radio station 24/7. Yet I still find it a difficult concept to grasp as I sit here in my shorts, window open and ceiling fan spinning at full tilt!
