This post brought to you by toad.net Let me take a minute to laud my ISP, toad.net. They're a local reseller for Covad and Verizon service and I've been a customer since I moved to DC in 2000. It's rare that people go out of their way to praise a company that provides service. Most service companies, like the phone company, the cable company, etc are often cursed more than they are praised. But Toad has gone out of their way to make me happy several times. This most recent case is just incredible. Friday I called them to tell them that I was moving at the end of the month and I'd like to move my DSL line to my new address. Roxanne, my rep, told me that until I had a working line with dial tone. So I made that call on Tuesday to get a line installed, and Verizon had it put in on Wednesday afternoon. I gave Roxanne the phone number on Tuesday and lo and behold, I get an email from Covad saying my new line has been installed and activated.
That's right, in 48 hours, I had DSL. Rock on. |

Moving Day! Moving Day(s) have now arrived and my living room appears much as it did before I moved in here. Found myself listening to BNL's Apartment song last night, and remembering a lot of the year here at 4106. I am going to miss this little place, so much has happened here! Browns games on Sunday with the grill. The blizzard. Frisbee Golf, lazy evenings on the porch under the stars. There is much to miss. But, with time comes new experiences in life and new people and new places and new adventures. This place will have a spot in my heart, for certain.
And now I go to pack the kitchen! |
