RogueIMC: "On Thursday the 14th, around 200 non-violent protesters gathered in peaceful demonstration to unWelcome George W. Bush in Jacksonville were attacked without provocation by police using pepper spray and less-than-lethal projectiles fired at close range."
Bend: "President Bush taught three Oregon schoolteachers a new lesson in irony - or tragedy - Thursday night when his campaign removed them from a Bush speech and threatened them with arrest simply for wearing t-shirts that said 'Protect Our Civil Liberties', the Democratic Party of Oregon reported." In Oppositeland wrong is right, weak is strong, bad is good, dirty is clean and down is up.
See, reality does not exist, it is all a matter of correct labelling, right?

Some people say that Kerry too would be a 'war president' and that he would not make a great difference. They are right. However, we are now in a situation in which even a small difference would be affecting hundreds of thousands of people. So the small difference is not that small at all. Every minute Bush and Blair remain in power is a minute lost. The sooner they are out, the better. The longer they are in power, the longer it will take to redress the situation, and some things might no longer be redressable then.
The situation in Iraq is devastating. The economy and our democracies are a shambles.
The Age: "Less than a day after President George Bush implied that his Democratic challenger John Kerry lacked 'fiscal sanity', the Administration said it had hit the debt ceiling set by Congress and would have to borrow money set aside for federal employees' pensions until after the election."
If Blair does not want to apologise for the Iraq war, he will have to explain his war in court. "It can only be a matter of time before the invasion is challenged in court."
Cape Times: "Secret government documents show that Tony Blair was warned by his own advisers a year before going to war that there was no growing threat from Saddam Hussein and that invading Iraq would be illegal."
And Blair continues in the same vein. "Since September 11 Britain has been warned of the 'inevitability' of catastrophic terrorist attack. But has the danger been exaggerated? A major new TV documentary claims that the perceived threat is a politically driven fantasy - and al-Qaida a dark illusion."
In the meantime the troops in Iraq are rebelling: "A 17-member Army Reserve platoon with troops from Jackson and around the Southeast deployed to Iraq is under arrest for refusing a 'suicide mission' to deliver fuel, the troops' relatives said Thursday."
ABC: "Injured soldiers returning from Iraq struggle for medical benefits and financial survival. Many of the severely wounded soldiers returning from Iraq face the prospect of poverty and what they describe as official indifference and incompetence."
