AntiWar: "No matter how bad it gets, nothing seems to change Americans' support for war, which for some reason is stiffest among Christian supporters of the Bush administration. 'Stuff happens in a war zone.' 'Don't worry because God is in control.' With these and other slogans, I've been reassured by countless pro-war Christians that, as long as civilians aren't intentionally targeted, taking their lives is okay, maybe even predestined, God's will."
ICH: "In early November 2001, with Americans still staggered by the Sept. 11 attacks, a small group of White House officials worked in great secrecy to devise a new system of justice for the new war they had declared on terrorism.
Determined to deal aggressively with the terrorists they expected to capture, the officials bypassed the federal courts and their constitutional guarantees, giving the military the authority to detain foreign suspects indefinitely and prosecute them in tribunals not used since World War II.
But three years later, not a single terrorist has been prosecuted."
Moscow Times: "Now we come at last to the heart of darkness. Now we know, from their own words, that the Bush Regime is a cult - a cult whose god is Power, whose adherents believe that they alone control reality, that indeed they create the world anew with each act of their iron will. And the goal of this will - undergirded by the cult's supreme virtues of war, fury and blind faith - is likewise openly declared: 'Empire'.
Indeed, the doctrine 'Gott mit Uns' is the linchpin of the Bush Cult. Tens of millions of Americans have now embraced the Cult's fusion of Bush's leadership with Divine Will. As a Bush volunteer in Missouri told Suskind: 'I just believe God controls everything, and God uses the president to keep evil down ... God gave us this president to be the man to protect the nation at this time.' God appointed Bush; thus Bush's acts are godly. It's a circular, self-confirming mind-set that can't be penetrated by reason or facts, can't be shaken by crimes and scandals. That's why Bush's core support - comprising almost half of the electorate - stays rock-solid, despite the manifest failures of his administration. It's based on blind faith, on poisonous fantasy: simple, flattering ('We're uniquely good, God's special nation!'), comforting, complete - so unlike the harsh, bewildering, splintered shards of reality."
All those deluded people do not want to see Bush's lies, cheating and killing. Later they will tell us 'we did not know', mimicking the Germans who supported Hitler. Four more years of Bush will end in disaster for America and the world.

AlterNet: "It's all over the news. In Ohio, the state Republican Party has challenged the eligibility of 35,000 newly registered voters. ... It's necessary they say, to prevent fraud in a state where polls show President Bush and John F. Kerry are in a statistical tie. Most of the 35,000 you'll not be surprised to hear, live in urban, which is to say, multi-racial, which is to say, Democratic, areas.
The Party's also announced that it's dredging up some dusty old law to send thousands of recruits to polling places Election Day to challenge the qualifications of Americans as they try to cast their votes."
When Stalinist tactics are being used, it shows they are too weak to win by any other means. It is clear the Republicans have no good arguments, that is why they cheat wherever amd whenever they can.
Don't let them intimidate you.

My favourite catbook is about The Cat Which Kept Popping Up When Least Expected: Cat-Nappers (US) or Aunts Aren't Gentlemen (UK).
Read the sad story 'The Man Who Disliked Cats'. You are warned.
One can give up many things in life, but not cats and literature.
