As a follow-up to my posting Bertie Wooster in Miami, Doug made this fine ad.
Thanks Doug!
While we're at it, here's another good poster that refers to Bush being wired during one of the debates.
And p2p-politics has lots and lots of election clips.
10:56:20 PM

WashingtonPost: "The ballots have yet to be counted, much less recounted. But attorneys for President Bush and John F. Kerry are already engaged in an intense legal battle for the presidency that could once again give the courts a say in who is declared the winner.
With less than two weeks to go before Election Day, an unprecedented number of lawsuits challenging basic election rules are pending in many of the battleground states. Both sides are in the final stages of training thousands of lawyers who will descend on the polls on Nov. 2 to watch for voter fraud or intimidation.
Each campaign has teams of attorneys ready in the event of a recount in one or more states. Both are hitting up donors to pay the legal tabs in case there is a disputed outcome that leaves the winner in doubt after the polls close."
We know that the Republicans are already cheating. The Democrats are preparing for that. The Republicans are preparing to counter-attack (they know they are cheating). The Reps have the advantage of biased judges and courts.
In the meantime, Bush is withholding information. "It is shocking: The Bush administration is suppressing a CIA report on 9/11 until after the election, and this one names names. Although the report by the inspector general's office of the CIA was completed in June, it has not been made available to the Congressional intelligence committees that mandated the study almost two years ago."
Bush must release that CIA report.

Naomi Klein: "Next week, something will happen that will unmask the upside-down morality of the invasion and occupation of Iraq. On October 21, Iraq will pay $200m in war reparations to some of the richest countries and corporations in the world.
Here is a small sample of who has been getting 'reparation' awards from Iraq: Halliburton ($18m), Bechtel ($7m), Mobil ($2.3m), Shell ($1.6m), Nestlé ($2.6m), Pepsi ($3.8m), Philip Morris ($1.3m), Sheraton ($11m), Kentucky Fried Chicken ($321,000) and Toys R Us ($189,449). In the vast majority of cases, these corporations did not claim that Saddam's forces damaged their property in Kuwait - only that they 'lost profits' or, in the case of American Express, experienced a 'decline in business' because of the invasion and occupation of Kuwait."
9:51:18 PM

AlterNet: "That Sinclair has since backed away from its original plan - announcing Tuesday that it would only air a special one-hour news program, entitled 'A POW Story: Politics, Pressure and the Media' - is in itself the sign of the power of grassroots organizing. The company refuses to admit that the protests - which resulted in a $105,000,000 financial loss since Oct. 8 - had any impact on its decision. According to its press release, 'Contrary to numerous inaccurate political and press accounts, the Sinclair stations will not be airing the documentary 'Stolen Honor' in its entirety. At no time did Sinclair ever publicly announce that it intended to do so'."
9:43:25 PM

ICH: "As much as America and the world wish to believe Florida will not be rigged with electoral fraud this November, the sad truth is that all the mechanisms needed to steal the state in favor of George Bush are already firmly entrenched. Thanks to Jeb Bush, Jim Crow manipulator of mandates, corrupt fraudster, decimator of democracy and brother of the president, and the Republican Party, which in essence controls the logistics of and the keys to running the election, Florida has already declared tens of thousands of voters, mostly black and Democratic, ineligible. Many more voters, of all creeds and colors, will be disenfranchised on election day, be it through intimidation, coercion, government intervention, criminal negligence, corruption and fraud, and, of course, through electronic voting machines, most of which are owned by staunch Republican supporters."
HeraldTribune: "Several days before the state's felon voter list was sent to county elections offices across Florida, state officials expressed doubts about its reliability.
The doubts were serious enough that Gov. Jeb Bush was advised to 'pull the plug' on the entire project, according to an e-mail written by a state computer expert and obtained by the Herald-Tribune.
Bush refused the request, the e-mail said, and told the Department of State to proceed with the purge of nearly 48,000 voters."
Some history: "In the October issue of Vanity Fair magazine, former Supreme Court law clerks from the court's 2000-01 term speak out - under cover of anonymity - about what they saw behind the scenes during the fateful case of Bush v. Gore.
Writers David Margolick, Evgenia Peretz and Michael Shnayerson recount the views of former clerks to liberal justices who opposed the ruling. Those clerks contend that the decision was an exercise in partisanship by conservative Republican justices.
Most of the criticism in the Vanity Fair piece is aimed at Justices Antonin Scalia, Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy, all of whom voted in favor of Bush. Scalia is depicted bullying Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg into watering down her dissenting opinion. O'Connor is described as emotionally fixated on stopping a recount and Kennedy as overly influenced by his right-wing clerks."
Now Bush has declared war on the New York Times. They will stop at nothing to win.
