After so many years of 'fighting terror', it is clear the situation is not getting better at all. Innocent lives are threatened and fall victims to terror, now not in Iraq, but close at home in London.
The reaction after 9/11 has only resulted in more terror and the constant eroding of our democratic society. All the might of the US has not prevented 9/11 from happening. We were not able to prevent the bombing in Madrid, nor in London. It is simply impossible to check and control every citizen, every movement of millions and millions of people. And brute force will not be able to defeat the secret movement and action of terrorists. It will only break down democracy and freedom.
Checking and monitoring birdwatchers will not reduce terrorism.
"The Blair government will doubtless seek to use this morning's atrocity to escalate its alarming attacks on civil liberties."
In this respect, the bombings come as a gift to Blair's policy making and at the right moment to intimidate the peace movement. One country that has a particular interest in a war against the Islam is Israel.
JerusalemPost: "In the past, governments have been expected to provide security to their citizens. The responsibility is still there, in principle. But in practice, no government today can provide an effective 'suit of protection' for the ordinary citizen. There can be no protection for every bus, every train, every street, every square. In these times the ordinary citizen must be vigilant and must make his personal contribution to the war effort. Private enterprise will have to supplement the national effort in many walks of life.
This war is already one of the longest in modern times; as things appear now, it is destined to be part of our daily lives for many years to come, until the enemy is eliminated, as it surely will be."
They are trying to make us accept this 'war' as inevitable and necessary. But in fact, the West has been largely instrumental in creating the conditions for this terror. Israel acts like a warmonger. And it seems the Mossad has a large stake in this affair.
It is said this attack came out of the blue for the British government. So, are MI5 and MI6 complete morons and incompetent? Or did they turn a blind eye to some developments and information? How could 9/11 have happened in a country that is so militarized and has the greatest 'intelligence' apparatus in the world? Because they let it happen. It served their purpose of breaking down civil rights in favour of corporate control of society. It seems the latest attack follows the same pattern.
Was Al Qaeda responsible? The organisation that claims the attacks calls itself the Secret Organisation Group of al-Qaeda (literally the base) of Jihad Organisation in Europe.
It is always suspicious when a new organization suddenly pops up and executes a perfect military operation; and links this to Al-Qaeda, Jihad and Europe.
The press messages contradict each other fundamentally.
IsraelNationalNews: "Army Radio quoting unconfirmed reliable sources reported a short time ago that Scotland Yard had intelligence warnings of the attacks a short time before they occurred.
The Israeli Embassy in London was notified in advance, resulting in Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu remaining in his hotel room rather than make his way to the hotel adjacent to the site of the first explosion, a Liverpool Street train station, where he was to address an economic summit."
StratforConsultingIntelligenceAgency: "There has been massive confusion over a denial made by the Israelis that the Scotland Yard had warned the Israeli Embassy in London of possible terrorist attacks 'minutes before' the first bomb went off July 7. Israel warned London of the attacks a 'couple of days ago', but British authorities failed to respond accordingly to deter the attacks, according to an unconfirmed rumor circulating in intelligence circles. While Israel is keeping quiet for the time-being, British Prime Minister Tony Blair soon will be facing the heat for his failure to take action."
IrelandOL: "Israel was not warned about possible terror attacks in London before at least six blasts ripped through the city, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said today."
Yahoo: "British police told the Israeli Embassy in London minutes before Thursday's explosions that they had received warnings of possible terror attacks in the city, a senior Israeli official said.
Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had planned to attend an economic conference in a hotel over the subway stop where one of the blasts occurred, and the warning prompted him to stay in his hotel room instead, government officials said."
Salon: "How worried were law enforcement types? This worried: 'According to a U.S. government official,' Isikoff and Hosenball wrote, 'fears of terror attacks have prompted FBI agents based in the U.S. Embassy in London to avoid traveling on London's popular underground railway (or tube) system, which is used daily by millions of commuters. While embassy-based officers of the U.S. Secret Service, Immigration and Customs bureaus and the CIA still are believed to use the underground to go about their business, FBI agents have been known to turn up late to cross-town meetings because they insist on using taxis in London's traffic-choked business center.'"
It is just not credible enough that no one knew this was going to happen. So serious questions will have to be asked, why and how this was allowed to happen. If there was no way of preventing this, then it seems this war is futile, counter-productive and senseless and other ways must be found towards peace.
What the powers that be are promising us is perpetual war and perpetual defeat, constant fear for the citizen, no protection at all. The Israeli government has already taken it for granted that living under terror is there to stay; they have an interest in a broad conflict, maybe a Third World War. But a militarized society will soon be unlivable.
Bush and Blair are largely responsible for the terror that is now threatening us. They are directly responsible for the terror they inflict on other countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, countries that were both provided with the means and ideologies to oppress their own people by the US and the UK.
