Scotsman: "Police warned yesterday that their shoot-to-kill policy would be applied across the whole of Britain and that more people might die at the hands of armed officers as a result of the investigation into the London bomb attacks."
Yahoo: "Massoud Shadjareh, head of the London-based Islamic Human Rights Commission, called for a full public inquiry.
'How can you shoot someone on mere suspicion? You can't even put someone in prison on suspicion, how can you kill them like that?' he said."

So it seems there will be another threat to citizens: the British police.
GlobalResearch: "The shoot to kill policy was undertaken under the auspices of 'Operation Kratos', named after the mythical Spartan hero. It was carried out by the London Metropolitan's elite SO19 firearms unit often referred to as the Blue Berets. The latter are described as the equivalent to the US SWAT teams, yet in this particular case, they were not wearing uniforms.
The training of the S019 marksmen was patterned on that of Israel."

Also in the US we see a continued undermining of democracy and justice.
WashingtonPost: "The Bush administration in recent days has been lobbying to block legislation supported by Republican senators that would bar the U.S. military from engaging in 'cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment' of detainees, from hiding prisoners from the Red Cross, and from using interrogation methods not authorized by a new Army field manual."
Editor&Publisher: "Yesterday, news emerged that lawyers for the Pentagon had refused to cooperate with a federal judge's order to release dozens of unseen photographs and videos from Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq by Saturday."
